Partnering, to monetise an existing unused space
In 2014, I first noticed the Coles Online Click & Collect service that provides consumers with an extremely convenient experience where they only have to stop once. This convenience provides consumers with further evidence to never stray from the Coles Universe of essential products (groceries/food, liquor and fuel) and services (car insurance) by shopping anywhere else. Since then, much has changed about where (locally/online), and how consumers buy and pay for their goods and services, and even the way they approach their banking (in-person at a branch/online) and the move towards a cashless society – this is especially true since the COVID-19 pandemic. The other day, I need to withdraw…

What do you do?
My friend is investigating learning design, more specifically “Learning design systems to support the design and production of online learning experiences at scale”, which is exciting stuff. They’ve asked me to share my responses to a few questions. How would you explain the practice of learning design to a layperson? I would explain the practice of learning design as the intentional authoring of an experience whereby the participant is able to know or do something differently than they did before they started. The Push-Up Challenge – completed for 2022

Sometimes all we can do is be there and show how much we care
Wendy Brown, a surgeon at the Alfred Hospital talks poignantly about a patient she was involved with where she couldn’t save their life and she got emotional over it. A great perspective on how you can be human, get distressed at times, but still do your job. Incredible stuff.
