When I say I’m in love with #DS106RADIO, you better believeI mean I’m in love with #DS106RADIO. L-U-V. You know, #DS106RADIO is the radio station I’m going to marry. I hope.
Because of this giant-sized love, I’m super stoked to learn that #DS106RADIO features as part of Week Four: The sound of science activities for DS106/AI106. Rad.

Watch
One of the tasks for this week is to watch How Radio Creates Empathy and Digital Shamanism and Old-Fashioned, Newfangled Storytelling Magic featuring Jad Abumrad.
What resonates most with me about Jad’s perspective is the idea of a storyteller being analogous to a Shaman who is obligated to create a circle connection (around a campfire), which is literally what #DS106radio is all about – friends broadcasting and mono-casting to friends (who are eagerly listening and talking-back via social media or similar community-based chat platform).

Create
In a previous iteration of DS106, I first discovered and fell in love with #DS106RADIO and had heaps of fun creating bumpers and sitting around the campfire listening to friends sharing their stories via a broadcast and then sharing my own in return.
That was then. This is now. For this iteration of DS106/AI106 I asked Dr. Oblivion very nicely to create a #DS106RADIO bumper for me – this is what he recorded.
