Although the goal of this research was to investigate enrolment data, learner activity data and themes identified from comments made by revisiting learners between 2015 and 2020 to identify the factors that contribute to learners revisiting a MOOC, this presentation will focus on the contribution that formative feedback made to learner revisiting.
Scavenged plywood. Homemade skate wax. Night skating on a deathtrap. What could go wrong?
Abstract Many studies have identified crucial factors that impact learner engagement in online courses, particularly free to join courses like MOOCs and have explored aspects of openness, freeness, production values, retention strategies and the impact of MOOCs on digital teaching and learning, but little has been said about learners who continue to revisit the same […]
Vomit writing tasks to define and slowly refine my research paper for the last two units (EDX703/704) in my Masters. Introduction and literature review Since their emergence in the mid-2000s, massive open online courses (MOOC) have been predicated on making learning available to everyone, and at scale. Much effort has been spent analysing data generated […]

Repeat learners or revisiting learners are learners who have self-identified as having completed more than one run of either of Monash’s mindfulness course on FutureLearn between 2016 and 2020. Results indicate that revisiting learners chose […]

I got some toime today to head out in the cold and wet to skate. Lucky me.
Skating during the day is a challenge, given WFH and the COVID-19 restrictions on skateparks here in Melbourne. Under the cover of darkness, I head out for a skate. I only get to skate at night, mostly. #RepossedToSkate #Skateboarding pic.twitter.com/3PY2ZqvEE1 — RepossessedToSkate (@REP2SKATE) April 27, 2020
I’ve only just started playing No Man’s Sky with my two children, which we’ve been thoroughly enjoying. The creative mode, or the mode where you’re not required to survive, has brought the most enjoyment so far, particular feeding/baiting/training/befriending the local fauna, mounting them and then cleaning-up their faecal matter. Much hilarity for the kids!
At the best of times, it’s a challenge to find time to skate. It’s either under the cover of darkness, first thing in the morning or late at night. This time it was late at night. Yes! Let’s skate (and film) together once I’ve found some form, fitness and first tries on this weird thing, […]
I’ve formed a three-piece DIY-Garage-Grind-Fam-Core band with my two children. We’re called Puking Love, and we’re love-sick. We sing about all the things that matter to people that are 7, 9 and 40+ years of age – homework, increasing vocabulary, chores, screen time, and more. 'F word' live on #DS106RADIO – MON 30 MARCH, 2020 […]
Riding my new setup: Santa Cruz Tom Knox Discord 9.98″ Deck, OJ Team Rider 61mm, Indy 169. It’s silent, super-fast and a little scary.
I’ve started experimenting with streaming my skateboarding sessions via my Repossessed to Skate channel on Twitch – a streaming platform for game oriented content. Why do this? I was curious how the platform worked, explore streaming as a ‘thing’ (particularly as a streamer with no viewers) and find out how particular communities form and interact […]
